Very cool lamp! Here's a photo of my friend's 140w SLI warming up.

Interestingly, another friend found a floodlight that had what appeared to be an SLI/H lamp in it - in the US! It was not working, probably because you can't find replacement lamps over here. I would love to get an SLI/H and install it in a fluorescent striplight fixture, but wire it from a remote ballast.

I'm lampin...

That's a nice shot that it. SLI is one of the technologies which has so far eluded my collection - sure I'll find one eventually though.

Nice capture of the crescent shaped profile of the arc tube there.

@arcblue i've had that idea too.

Personally i think that all Lamp Bans are idiotic, the idea of telling us we cant use this lamp type just cause its less efficent is highly communist in nature...really what good is it going to do?

You may have to cut it down a bit though, (my other lamp, the 140watt), was in a flourescent batten, a 4 foot one, but I had to cut the end off, the re-posision the lamp holder.
I know you guys in the US used the sox lamp in small amounts, but had no idea the SLI/H was so rare over there
