Mass Preheat Startup in DieselNut's Shop

Earlier today, Powell, TheUniversalDave1, and I met at John's farm in Georgia to trade some goodies. While we were there, we did this AWESOME startup!

That was epic. Listen closely for a LOT of starters pinging in many different pitches. Sounds almost like a time machine from a classic cartoon.

I've several videos of massive preheat/switchstart of the PLs at the swimming pool of Bet-Biram , and of T8/T12s in the storage of Carmel hospital .
Currently I can't capture pictures and videos, since my camera (Canon PowerShot SX150 IS) sent to repairing, as it every turn ON, ask me to insert date/time (Probably the main battery got deplated).

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 230-240V, 50hz country.

Awesome !

Not having (and not intending to get) an Iphone, but i am getting near the amount of fluorescent lanterns seen in this video - in 2x36/40 Switch Start. No 3-lamp ones tho.... Some day i'll have a place like this and theyll be all installed up

I am interested in how this system is wired. Multiwire circuit for each run ? Contactors ? Individual switches ? Main of a subpanel ?

The lights are divided into sections, each on its own circuit breaker. I'm sure John will be able to elaborate. For this video, he turned off the main breaker, turned all of the sections on, and then turned the main back on.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

These are all on a 100 amp sub panel, fed from a 120/240v breaker in my main 600 amp 3 phase panel. I turned off the main breaker, then turned on all the breakers for the lighting circuits, then turned the main back on for this video. I have it set up on 14 circuits, each controlled by a 20 amp single pole 120v breaker. I only turn on the ones I need when working in the shop. The ones not turned on in this video are the ones for my party lighting. (F40 BLBs and Reds)

That is awesome! All the pinging towards the back and the last tube to come on in the middle far right row.

Long live the great old 20th century quality in electrical & lighting products!

Where did you find 100 watt T17 tubes?
I LOVE my 2x90/100 T17 fixtures for the "cool" factor, but I am glad to have 2x40 and 3x40 T12 fixtures in my shop. They are MUCH more reliable.
