My friend and I took apart the front bumper of my VW Jetta to put in brand new, crystal clear headlight fixtures. The original ones oxidized due to humidity and other harsh conditions over the years. It was a fun and relatively easy project and I'm really enjoying the brilliantly bright new headlights that are assembly line pristine.
The new fixtures had 9003 sockets, so I had to retire my 9007 Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs and replace them with Silverstar Ultra 9003's. The new bulbs are made in Germany and seem to fit the design of a German car a bit better than the USA made 9007's. The beam pattern is even and the high beams, seen in the picture are particularly intense😎. Now I look forward to driving in the dark and enjoying these awesome new headlights.
By the way, it is legal in South Carolina to have an outdated front plate from another state. I have West Virginia plate from 2007 on right now.
