100% clear MV lit gas station

No, this is not the camera playing tricks on you. This gas station is lit with 100% mercury vapor. This pic was taken about 20 minutes after startup, and you could see some of the lamps had long thin arctubes, something only MV has. It is quite a sight at night, and eerie too.

Interesting. At night people must look like zombies pumping gas.

Pride and quality workmanship should lie behind manufacturing, not greed.

Nice! Gee, they sure turn on their lights early! Looks like there was at least another hour until it actually got dark out!

$1.81 here in Clemson, SC.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

Illinois is a joke. Everything here's overpriced, but at least the lighting isn't (yet...)

We have an automated fuel station up the road here I use all the time, which is lit by a pair of 175w clear mercury vapour NEMA area lights.

Unfourtunately Most gaz stations in Israel, converted their light to LED (All PAZ gas stations, are LED illuminated), and the ones that remained with traditional lighting, uses mostly MH and sometimes also fluorescents. There are only few gas station that still have mercury lanterns at their exit and enterance lanes.

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I lives in Israel, which is a 230-240V, 50hz country.

@douro20 What is an automated fuel station?
@dor123 A few weeks ago, a SuperAmerica gas station replaced their dimmed out and failing LED canopy lights with brand new MH canopy lights. So, I hope someone learned their lesson about LED canopy lighting. I have seen gas stations with LED canopy lights that run 24/7, so apparently they think that they are cheap to run.

By the way, gas is now $1.85 a gallon here, less than a chocolate iced coffee.
