These light up quickly and full unlike the stupid Altos right next to it. It's not even cold and they took forever to brighten up

T12/ t17 there's a reason they made heavy magnetic ballasts

Ironically, I just bought a case of 40w Daylight Deluxe altos and even on their first start the two I'v used so far have been instant full brightness. A Sylvania /GTE Design 50 brought inside from 17F striated like an F34T12!

They're still "Ewwww!" lamps but they're nice just because they're Westinghouse and have the cool etch.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Those black caps and the etch make it all worth it in my opinion.

The more you hate the LED movement, the stronger it becomes.

These were the best of the first generation energy saving fluorescents.

Preheat and T-12 fluorescents forever! Down with LED's and instant start T-8 fluorescents.

@RyanF40T12:
I agree as well.

--------
This was always one of my favorite etches.
Never seen one in LW though

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

Nice find as it in Light white too
Yes as Jercar954 said these are the best
As westinghouse did those right. When
Philip got there mits on westinghouse
Stuff over years tend slide down hill
They should of apply same qualty
Of lamps from holland but they did
Not amd they had to screw it up for
American to sell us more lamps every
Year or two.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly.  Gotta  love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.

Wow, some of the last Westies here. I think their street light division belonged to Cooper Industries in 1982.
