Aqueon Full Spectrum Fluorescent Tube

Aqueon Full Spectrum Fluorescent Tube

$10 At Pet Supermarket. It puts out a very pleasing light, one you could use as general lighting. Does the Germany label mean this is made by Osram?
And the spectrum on the box would imply that this is Deluxe Halophosphate, can you verify that?
And it seems to have reasonable color rendering, I would also like to have that value.
I tested it 3 times on an instant start fixture. How much life would I expect to be taken away from it?

Narva? Thought it was Osram. I'm scared of the high heat and high humidity of the shed and the tube falling out and shocks.
Good thing it was only 10 dollars.

Yes, these are made by Narva.

Linear fluorescent will never lose to LED!
I am not Anti-LED, as I have some in use at my house.

I've never heard of Narva. Are there any reasons you never hear of them? And what phosphor does this tube use?

Would slight bending of it when taking it out of a fixture hurt the tube?

I highly doubt that a few tests on instant start would cause any harm. An easy way to tell if halophosphor or not is use a compact disk and view at an angle to see the 'rainbow'. If the colors blend together continuously, then most likely halophosphor but if they have sharp outlines from one color to the next, most likely triphosphor. Of course, some lamps are a blend so that might be trickier. Also, the mercury lines (green-blue, yellow mostly) will still be sharp.

The spectrum on the box would tell you, try looking it up, I found it on Amazon but I don't have enough time right now to give you a link or test it.
I don't remember any cracking or bad things happening when it bent a littlt bit, but something deep and tiny might have happened. How likely is it?

You may have never heard of Narva because their products hardly appear in the retail trade. And this is so because they're a too small company.

The brand printed on the tube belongs to a supplier of fish-tank equipment. Apparently this is a special production for this third party, these tubes do not appear in Narva's own catalogue.

Wow, it's odd how such a small company can make such high quality things.
