Now if they still used gold ends and the lifeline etch not to mention the old phosphor blend these would be a good lamp.

T12/ t17 there's a reason they made heavy magnetic ballasts

I've found that the modern (or any) Canadian-made Sylvania's are pretty robust. However, as with the U.S. made lamps, quite often they go mercury-starved after the Osram acquisition. Not only F40's, but the F96T12/HO's at my work are notorious for this. Lamps don't make it to EOL very often before they just simply dim out and get replaced. Dunno about the /VHO though.

Cool but I already have a full case of 90s etch 215 watt USA but will see how it does i just wanted thin out my collection my new house is bigger to display lights but smaller to store them for now.

These are nice and bright lamps. I've got 106 of these tubes, 50 of them in NOS condition.
