I cut down one of those f96t12 fixtures made this crazy bright light. I'm not sure what's the proper ballast for these lamps? None of my ballasts list 2 f60pg17. So I just used a rs2s200tp ( 96' vho ballast) is this the right gear? They seen to run a bit overdrivin these blow away my 215 watt t12s. Fully grooved pure snow white light very incredible

Is the ballast from Philips? If so, use RC-2S200-TP-1, it will be running F60PG17 perfectly, i find this information in amazon.com.

Ok then I'm using the right gear then thankyou. No cathode glow either after switch off. I can't believe how bright this is and ballast seems running comfy and quiet.

T12/ t17 there's a reason they made heavy magnetic ballasts

Some of the advance rs 2s200 tp ballast only have a capacitor rated for 72" lamps. 60" lamps have a lower arc voltage making the the capacitor have a higher voltage across it. It's impossible to tell what cap is in the ballast unless it specifically list 60" lamps on the label. I would use two ballast for 48" pg lamps as these will run 1 or 2 48" lamps and have 1 60" vho lamp listed on the label.

Same issue with the HO ballast plus the lamps would be underdriven.
