These downlights were probabley the fastest to convert ever, usually with GU10s you have to re-drill holes in them, but the GU10 lamp holder in these had the exact same spaced screw holes as our E27 ones.
Took me all of 5 minute to do both

Yes, we had to wait a while for that, but it's all done and dusted now

Back on topic, I'm still wondering how warm the ceiling got with these lamps so close to it

@MissRiaElaine:
That is a good question on the ceiling too..I kinda wonder that too.
But I also wonder how hot these get - like if they really get that much hotter than say a 100w incandescent?

These fittings were designed for 50W halogen GU10 base lamps, don't know how hot they get.

@MissRiaElaine:
Now I know why those lamps do look so really odd/out of place .. its not just an Incandescent-to-MH retrofit

I've seen similar fittings here (with GU10's ofcourse...almost bought a few once, but they wouldn't have quite fit in the spot where I was thinking of). I do know the little 50w GU10 lamps get damn hot..I've got a few spotlight fittings with them, and will probably go with 25w when they EOL (plus the 25w lamps last allot longer too)

Only just seen this LOL!, so 1, did they get the ceiling hot?, warm not hot, didn`t even damage the paint!
2, the fittings were for 50watt halogen yes, but they were fire proof ones, with a fire proof heat pad mounted in the base, I just gave them a lamp holder change.
3, yes I`m a nutter, thank you Miss Cuddly!
4, no their not here anymore, it was just a mad experiment, and although the wife didn`t mind them, I decided it was a little too bright!
5, 50watt dichroic GU10 probably get as hot at their cap as these do.
