Close Up of 15 Watt Philips Marathon CFL

Here's a close up of my 15 watt Philips Marathon CFL about 5 seconds after turning it on. The two outer tubes warm up first, and the middle tube comes to full brightness lastly. I like this CFL design more than the spiral design.

I think the spiral design creates a "heat pocket" in the center creating more heat, this however looks like a design that doesn't trap much heat which means cooler runtime

Yeah, I can see that with the hollow space under the three tubes. Less heat leads to better efficiency and longer life.

Philips DuraMax and GE Miser forever!  Classic incandescents are the best incandescents!

Stop the lamp bans!

These style Philips tubes were very unreliable.

The more you hate the LED movement, the stronger it becomes.
