These are halogen lamps. One of the energy saving alternatives to incandescent.

Power provider: Southern California Edison (SCE)

-Date decoder of some US lamps 1960-present.
-Switch and receptacle collector.
-I'll save any vintage lamp! Smiley

A 4 pack of 60w store brands could be had for a buck or less before government interfered with the lighting industry. A case of f40's could be had for 30 bucks and a case of 8' lamps could be had for 45 bucks or less. We already had the limes here to run these on.

Keep government out of the lighting industry.

These are at Big Lots taken on today's date...regular incandescent 4 pack with a choice of wattage as you can see. Also note the terrible estimated use life compared to the price. STEEEEEEEP

After all we are too stupid to make a good decision. Good thing we have government to do that for us. Incandescant lamps are pure evil dealt to us by satan himself. Thank you government for saving us from these and giving us led. Disposable fixtures are much more earth friendly than incandescent lamps are.

Keep government out of the lighting industry.

.9 year life pathetic. And high price too
GE really tries to hide the fact these are the halogen variety rather than standard incandescent.
I'd gotten some of the 40w version of these thinking they were incandescent ... and even though they're brighter than the remaining 40w incandescents in the fixture where I needed to replace some, I'm not at all impressed (even on a fixture with a dimmer they don't seem to last very long)

Its gettin hard to find them, but i'll be sticking with normal incandescent (ie: real lightbulbs).

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

Thanks, GeorgiaLights.

I have seen similar ripoff at my local Target store where they sell General Electric and their own brand name for wee bit less money.

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

The CVS near me sells these bulbs for 10$ a box and their bulbs for 8$ a box (both of which are manufactured by GE).

Old lighting is, and will always be, the best lighting.

I was going to say that a drug store might be the only other place that could possibly be higher than the price I photographed

I have always found Big Lots to be overpriced on GLS lamps.

Old school FTW!

Here incandescent and Halogen Bulbs are forbidden now. It was only one Time that i saw coated Halogen Lamps here, and i bought a candle and GLS one. The Cheapest Halogen Lamps i've seen here are probably the Voltolux ones for 2,99 for 2 Pieces, or the ones that i bought in Italy. But they all have a rated Life of 2 Years, i've never seen something as low as 0,9 Years Life. The most expensive Halogen i've seen was in a small Supermarket in Italy, about 5€ for a single Bulb.

The Cheapest Incandescent i ever saw was the 2-Pack of Attralux Candles for 1,69€, but they aren't avainable anymore. A Hardware Store here still has 40W-GLS Lamps in 2-Packs for a similar Price. There maybe were still cheaper ones in the Past, but i was a small child and didn't have possibilities to buy some when they got forbidden.

T12s aren't available and i have never seen them in any Store, but F36T8s (OSRAM) cost about 8-9€ a Piece in my local Hardware Store. But they also have Fixtures with Chinese Bulbs in them for 5€.
