Beautiful lamp! I have a few of these. The sleeves are interesting. They roll up around the lamp. Do you know the special purpose for these as opposed to the BT/ED37 lamps? They run on the same ballasts and don't appear to be special spectrum or anything. They work nice for use in HPS fixtures that can't fit a full ED/BT37 lamp.

I'm not honestly sure, but I've heard that they are used possibly in airport beacon lighting. They are very interesting though. Unfortunately, mine didn't come with a wrapper...but it was free so I'm not complaining.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.
