It's not an L250. Its designated as a 4th. Gen OV-25.

Didn't know that existed :-|no thought only to 3rd

Why can't we just use led retrofit instead of replacing the whole fixture.

Unfortunately, these luminaires are cheaply made. The casting is quite thin, especially the door, and the exposed slipfitter is prone to rust and locked up nuts. I had one that had been left outside in the upside down position by a previous owner, which had filled with water and was full of corrosion. I wanted to save it, but it was just too far gone. If you are lucky to find one in good condition, consider it a blessing. (I was able to salvage the reflector box and refractor. The reflector box ended up in a 3rd gen OV-25 that is awaiting restoration, and the refractor is safely stored away.)

This luminaire is a Westinghouse/Crouse-Hinds 4th gen OV-25. The L-250 nomenclature is a myth.

Your mission - should you choose to except it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

I thought the open bottom was a great place for water to get in. I've never seen one of these damaged though, The ge m1000 was the only light I saw that was magerly broken.

Why can't we just use led retrofit instead of replacing the whole fixture.
