Sylvania 100 watt mercury lamp

Sylvania 100 watt mercury lamp

I never had a mercury lamp like this one before but it's neat for sure. It's well used, it works but won't fire up on a ballast alone, if I use it on a 100 watt Metal Halide ballast with an ignitor it starts up and runs fine but it's very dim. Inside the lamp appears to be fully phosphor coated, including the silver part

These R40 MV lamps are cool for collecting.

A man has two lives to live, and the second one begins when he realizes he only has one.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
