Those are nice! Still a few of those around my area, but mostly converted to HPS, unfortunately.

Nice light! Pittsburgh has 200 watt HPS M-400A2s over 20 years old but they might be replaced with LEDs in the near future.

Thanks, I don't mind LED's if they retrofit cobraheads instead of installing those goofy looking LED fixtures.

Very Nice, We still have some M-400A2s but they are all HPS and most of them are FCO. Well at least I haven't heard anything about LED streetlights going up in Ontario except for a few test sites.

There's lots of those in my town, only 400w HPS. I wish there were some MV ones, too. I hope you'll take pictures of yours lit up, especially dayburning sometimes.

On state routes the M400 series has been the mainstay of lighting for many years. I've seen them in 200w, 250w, 310w and 400w versions. Most are FCO, but some are drop lens (usually plastic) and some of those have the external glareshields.

Don't you have an M1000 you could put back there?

Nothing like the beautiful cool white light of a coated Mercury Vapor lamp and the soothing hum of it's magnetic ballast.

I noticed that this light doesn't have the 'wings' engraved in the top housing like most of the M-400A2's have.

Yea, I was hoping it did when I bought it It's one of the newer models with the bail latch instead of the thumb latch but I still like it.

The M-400R2's an A2's did have them prior to 1997. I think they look better with them, but I still like the GE fixtures.

Tommarow I'm relocating my fixtures to my basement rather than my garage, they seem to be gettig scatched and scuffed up out there after all the hard work I put into restoring them. let me know if you want to see any others while I move them.

A friend of mine has one of these NOS which I would like to try and sell for him. It is set up for 150w HPS lamps and has a 480v ballast. If I do try and sell it for him, it would have to be for local pickup only.
