4' T-12 wraparound fixture

4' T-12 wraparound fixture

Inexpensive American Fluorescent wraparound fixture that originally had a ballast optimized for 34w T12 lamps and thus ran 40w lamps very dimly at 0.45A. I next tried an almost-full-power Advance but the fixture then seemed too bright for the small room. I settled on a mid-90's HPF 40w Advance that drives the lamps at 0.67A.

I used to have one of these branded as Power Products Company. I think they were a Simkar subdivision or maybe they were Simkar with a different name. Jeremiah J Frog has that wraparound now.

I have a Lithonia one that had a ballast approved for 34 watt tubes (.76 amp) and I replaced it with a Power Lighting Products 8G1000W two tube preheat ballast and mounted the starter sockets in the knockouts in the end plates. It looks like it was made that way!

Preheat Fluorescents forever!
I love diesel engines, rural/farm life and vintage lighting!
