Nice to see new installs of HID lights. LED is so glary and boring!

Preheat Fluorescents forever!
I love diesel engines, rural/farm life and vintage lighting!

Yep! I notice the reflection from the blue sky, I think they use 175w MH lamps.

NEW metal halide installation?

Also, can you get a close up pic of the lamps?

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

I've seen cities still install HPS streetlights!

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

That's not too uncommon, it's just really weird to see a new metal halide installation when all new constructions I have seen within the past 3 years have used literally nothing but LED everywhere.

Yeah I don't think I've seen much new metal halide installations within the last 3 years. As for new HPS, they recently opened a new overpass and it was all lit with HPS. I believe the City of Toronto still uses HPS and Metal Halide for spot replacing fixtures though.

I see new HPS regularly but have not seen any new MH recently. Have even seen a few new fluorescent installs, even though they are all T8 and T5. Still beats LSD!

I'm not sure that my camera phone can zoom super close to the lamps. I may have to try it someday.

And these fixtures were installed a year ago? What a waste of perfectly good MH lamps and ballasts. All for junk corn cob LED's that won't last more than a couple years.

Should have been around in the mid-late sixties when incandescents were hitting the trash bin everyday for mercury vapor. Some of the fixtures were not even a year old and some were still in their respective manufactures boxes in the warehouses but chunked anyway. Incandescents in the South fell very quickly in favor of MV.
