That is AWESOME

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

never seen one like that.

Personally i think that all Lamp Bans are idiotic, the idea of telling us we cant use this lamp type just cause its less efficent is highly communist in nature...really what good is it going to do?

THANKS!!!
I decided to replace the original pic since I installed the fixture in my bedroom.
It's kinda bright with both tubes, so I'll probably just remove one starter.

My very first word was LIGHT!

or you could rewire it so you could flip one or both tubes on at a given time

Since I'm using this in my room, I'm thinking about putting T9 tubes in it. Those T10s are hard to find!

That's awesome man. You always find the great antique stuff. There's no modern fixture that is even in the ballpark with this one. 5 stars from me.

Keep government out of the lighting industry.

32 and 40 watt circlines used to use T10 tubes, but sometime around 1980ish they switched to the same T9 tube used for 22 watt circlines. Someone might know more about that change.

Amazing find Henry,

Obviously the LJ Segil company outdid themselves again with this one,

I've seen a lot of there vintage fluorescent light fixtures over the years and every fixture I've seen is above and beyond cool but this one takes the cake you lucky guy you !!!!

I love how they incorporate soup can ends for there end caps obviously there trade mark- I'll bet they were a colorful group of people to work for back in the day,

I love there fixtures - Congratulations on this one .!!!!

T9 tubes? yet another size.... please dont tell me theres a T20 or a T15 or maybe a T3?

Yes, all those (at least theoretically) exist. The T means tubular, and the number means the diameter in eights of an inch. T8 means a tubular lamp that is 8/8 inches diameter (so one inch). T12 is 12/8 inches, so 1 1/2 inches. T5 is 5/8 inch, etc. Other letters may be used for different lamp shapes (A, E, ED, BT, C, B come to mind readily, but there may be others as well). This means a standard mercury lamp in BT28 is of a blown tubular shape (a tube with a bulged part, evident when you consider the flat tip of the jacket), and the diameter (of the largest part) is 28/8 inches (3 1/2 inches).

By the way, this nomenclature is not exclusive to the discharge lamps, incandescent lamps are normally in A19 or so, which means the standard ball-ish shape that is 19/8 inches diameter.

Surprised no one asked this one yet. What does it have for ballasts?
