1kw MH troffers!

This is in a gym, so the ceiling is very damaged. There were 8 lights in total, 4 were switched on when this picture was taken. All but one had BT56 MH lamps, the other had a /DX merc. The fixtures either had transparent covers, or the covers were missing because you could easily see the lamp. To be honest, 100w fixtures were probably overkill for in here, since 400w lights would have probably been enough.

I don't understand why gyms sometimes have a drop ceiling. I taught in an older school that had one and it was a mess, every time someone used the gym, they had to clean out some tile fragments that fell victim to flying balls.

Cool lights, by the way. I can't imagine they would be without covers. If there is a balcony in this gym and you can have access to it, you might be able to see a reflection in the glass in an unlit fixture, proving their existence.

I know. I was confused as to why on earth they would have a weak ceiling in a room where it is for sure going to get hit by flying balls. Still cool fixtures, though.

That's so stupid having a drop ceiling in a gym. Yeah try what sol said. You can probably see a reflection off one of the unlit lights. Or just try throwing a ball up at one of them and see if the ball knocks out a lamp or bounces off a glass cover lol.

Please check out my newly-updated website! McCann Lighting Company is where my street light collection is displayed in detail.

Or get a helper with a powerful flashlight to shine on an unlit one while you look at some distance for a reflection.
