McCann Lighting EconoBox™ - Shot of the Top of the Gear Tray

McCann Lighting EconoBox™ - Shot of the Top of the Gear Tray

This metal plate (called the gear tray) serves as a socket bracket, a ballast bracket, and a reflector all in one. You can see I've affixed the wiring instructions label, which is detailed in another pic.

I wanted to use foil labels but they didn't print too well on the school printer (I think my tin foil at home is too thin) so I decided to stick with the paper labels and simply laminated them to make them stand up to the relative humidity of outdoors a little better.

Why is one ballast black and the other one white?

Any machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough.

Because that's the color the manufacturer painted them... No real reason really. They could be painted any color. Some are unpainted.

Thanks! I'd love to use black wire nuts(simply to have them all match if nothing else) but I don't have any.
