GE 40W Deep Blue

GE 40W Deep Blue

Here is a General Electric F40DB lamp I picked up from tcomega50. The deep blue is different than the typical fluorescent blue. These have a glow that's closer to that of a ceramic blue incandescent lamp. They're also a little dimmer, and their color and luminosity compliment a red lamp well.

So is a F40/B really bright then? I know a F40/R is kinda dim.

Regular Blue is moderately bright at about 1800 lumens. Normal Blue goes well with Gold. Of course, Green outshines everything at around 4000 lumens.

Awesome Awesome find. Would love to get a couple myself...but not for the crazy prices they go for on eBay when the rare time is they even show up.

@wattMaster:
Yep green's are bright
To make one compatible with a red, you basically have to put it on a dimmable ballast...and go down fairly close to its minimum level

Colored Fluorescent's such as F40T12 Red or  Green or Blue are awesome...

It'd be neat if somebody found another stash of these lamps around. I believe all of them posted on L-G came from Trevor. These were his last (besides the other two he just sold), and he let me have the case which originally held 24.

They are beauties for sure! I bought six from him, along with Red, Pink, White and CW/IS (bipin instant start). I got some colored 14, 15 and 20 watt tubes from him at the same time, and too many F90T17/D.

Yea he had a LOT of good stuff back then and must have either come across more or held on to some snice then.
