Good conversion! That can work with the earliest BriteStiks, more recently they converted to an array of 8x Nichia NF2L757DR-V1E emitters, which are 6V each and therefore about 49V across the string. From what I can understand they are now in the process of converting again to Nichia's new 14-chip single package emitter. It's not so easy to find 12V input boost drivers that can handle such high voltage at the output.

Nice conversion!
The LEDs aren't the original ones right?

no.
iirc the originals are 3 die and there are 14 of them.
these are luxeon k2.
the first got chinese luxeon clones that are slightly brighter but have poor color rendering esp red.
the luxeons are a bit better in cri.
the cree 4500k 80+ cri will be even better.
the thermal compound/mounting adhesive is jb kwik.
steel filled epoxy.the plate is epoxied to the barrel to make the thermal link to it from the plate.
it barely gets warm.
next one gets a 3 cree xp-g nw star and a 900ma driver.
i didnt get to use these last 2 as a neighbor needed them for his vw camper van.
he wanted the efficiency of leds and keeping the fixtures original.
these make double the light of the lousy 12v incans they replace.
