Golfball shaped Incandescent Bulb with two Filaments

Golfball shaped Incandescent Bulb with two Filaments

Click to view full size image

This bulb here is different to others as it has a fabrication defect. It has got one filament placed and connected correctly but on the lower lead there is a second filament attached, having the other end loose in the bulbs space. I had to photograph the innards of the bulb via the clear band at the base as the bulb is frosted.

It’s a double life lamp. In case of the first filament burns through just shake the bulb well till the second one connects and you have another 1kh of life.

That's interesting Michael. Seems that one part of the filament string failed to cut in premeasured length before mounting on the stem assembly

Pretty, please no more Chinese failure.

Quite possible Robert! It could be as well that these two filaments get tanglet during their storage and they were not separated during clamping the ends on the lead.
