Found two of these at a ReStore. See that arc tube? Tiny compared to the huge outer and the shroud which is as long as the bulge section of the bulb! I saw mercury rolling around in the arc tube, they got a lot eh? CMHs usually have very little...

Talk about lucky...

I don't disapprove of LED's for domestic and other indoor use, I just don't like them for street lighting.

Can this run on 1000W MH, PSMH, MV, and HPS ballasts?

1kw MH and PSMH ballasts, you can use this on. Mercury ballasts, maybe hard to light up. HPS ballasts, too much current for this one.

May all the great lighting technologies have their place in history.

How are you going to operate the lamp? I never seen such weird wattage before of a PSMH.

I like LED, but in household use, NOT commercial use.

I like HID lamps, especially the High Pressure Sodium lights, they have a orange color, which is actually my favorite color! Smiley  High Pressure Sodium High Pressure Sodium High Pressure Sodium

Ahh I see. Does it say what kind of lamps it can run on? By "AllStart" I'd assume it would work on any 1000W HID ballast. If it was true it would be a "miracle lamp" lol.

It's an energy saving retrofit lamp. They make them for 175, 250, 400, and 1000W MH IIRC. A 360W probe start MH lamp is/was made for operation on 400W M59 gear as well.

Yep, energy saving equivalent for the 1000w metal halide lamp. AllStart means it can be used on either MH or PSMH ballast.

Thanks for giving me a Kickstarter idea.

This lamp is for 1000W probe-start and pulse-start MH ballast only. On mercury ballast it won't start, and with HPS ballast it may be overdriven or underdriven.
This lamp have neon-argon starting gas, so it should glow red during ignition.

I"m don't speak english well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I hope that LED won't replace all forms of other light

I have one of these bad boys, runs find on my 1kW probe start MH. Don't have any other types of 1kW ballast to try it with. Unfortunately mine was vertical burn only and I don't think a horizontal or universal position version was made so you can't use them in 1kW cobraheads.

Well Dave, you find some nice stuff at your ReStores. I've found some nice things too, but not one of these.

Ever feel like you're being misLED?
