Here you see a Iwasaki EYE Ignitron LU1000/T25/I 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium Lamp with Tubular Bulb and Internal F.E.C (Ferrule Electrolytic Capacitor) starter which eliminates the need of a seperate Electronic Ignitor, this Lamp is designed for use on a US S52 High Pressure Sodium Ballast with the Ignitor disconnected/Removed from the Circuit.

No dor, the biggest lamps with a kind of internal ignitor are those HQI-T and HRI-T 2000W/N/I lamps for use on 2000W mercury ballasts on 8.8Amps. They have internal bi-metall switches for the start - probes.

The HQI-T/HRI-T 2000W/N/I, isn't considered a lamp with an internal ignitor. It simply a probe-start MH lamp that uses two starting electrodes instead of one, for ignition directly from the 480V 3PH ballast, and the bi-metal switch is there only for shorting the starting electrodes to the main ones. Starting probes aren't considered an ignitors, since they don't produces high voltage pulses for ignition, but only help the lamp to start directly from the mains voltage.
The lamp feature here, uses an internal device for producing a HV pulses to start the arctube, which is in fact an ignitor. Since most lamps that have an internal HV ignitors like glow bottles, thermal snap switch or FEC, are mainly low wattage lamps, this lamp is the world's largest of its type.

The I suffix, means that it have an internal starting device. This is applies regardless if the starting device is a starting aid (Like starting probe), which allows the lamp to start directly from the mains voltage without an ignitor, or a real HV generator (Ignitor) like a glow bottle, thermal snap switch, or a FEC.
