Antique (?) screw-in globe adapter

This was installed in the broken socket I replaced. I have never seen anything like this before, so does anyone know anything about these? I opened it up and it just had a Feit LED lamp in it, not some super-old incandescent like I had hoped.

I have a couple of these globe adapters seen here I believe they are from the 70s-80s.
