Why the arc glowing yellowish white?

I"m don't speak english well, and rely on online translating to write in this site.
Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.

I only working with the European date format (dd.mm.yyyy).

I hope that LED won't replace all forms of other light

I haven't taken the spectrum yet. I agree that they are warm. I also used some other carbons (didn't video or take stills) and these are a good deal redder. Won't know exactly what's happening until I get the spectrum.

I can tell you that the light produced is not very strong. In fact it does NOT surpass a 60 watt ordinary light bulb. Also variable in the color!

It is strange, as carbon arcs, used to be very strong. But this is still produces a lot of dangerous UV radiation.

When I was much younger then I am now in the 50s these 'health ' lamps were common, now you may be lucky to see one at a boot sale and would not want to try it out without checking the electrics, I remember these would have an element like an old electric fire to give out IR while the arc gave UV you would of been advised to wear dark glasses, arc lighting goes back to Humphrey Davy and the Royal Institute where he installed a gigantic battery to run his arc lights. Sorry if spelling is bad this is due to the fact I can hardly see due to cataract which I have the op later this month.....peter.....nice to see that Y/Tube
