Neat Looking Hetal Halide High Bays at Holiday Inn Lobby

Neat Looking Hetal Halide High Bays at Holiday Inn Lobby

Click to view full size image

Stayed at an interesting Holiday Inn a while back and they had a massive lobby/pool/party spot. And up in the sky were these 4 MH high bays near the exposed elevators to access the rooms. These things have a neat style and are pretty high, definitely something different in a hotel. I don’t know when or if they use them anymore but they are there and I’d love to see what it looks like with them on. No idea what wattage but something cool I thought I’d share. The elevators also go right to the same level as them so you can get pretty close, which is where one of the bottom pictures was taken.

These are at least 400W. Might even be 1000W. They remind me of these minus the concentric ring louvre.

These appear to be standard high bay fixtures with a hexagonal decorative cover, probably available from the manufacturer at the time of installation.

those are 1000 watters! I zoomed the pictures and looked at the lower right pic with a magnifying glass and you can see the BT-56 lamp with a very blackened arc tube

They certainly look large enough to house a BT56 lamp comfortably. It would be nice to see what the place looks like when they are all lit.

Reminds me of the lights found in older games, where they are not round but are octagon or hexagonal like this because of graphical limitations. Definitely looks like a cover that fits over a standard high bay. Such covers can be home made if you have welding skills. Gives me ideas for all sorts of cool fixtures
