I am always impressed by the sheer quality of Iwasaki lamps, they knock the cheap Chinese stuff into a hat

Even the bulbs they have made in China are pretty good.

Agreed! I like their lamps. Here in North America, Westinghouse Lifeguard mercury vapor lamps were the best available, followed by a toss up between Sylvania and Iwasaki. I think they are the best made today.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

I have a couple of Chinese made Iwasaki lamps too, and they are actually pretty well made!

I only have the Japanese made ones, including a lovely GE-badged 120V 160W self-ballasted one, which I haven't posted a picture of yet, so that's tomorrow's job

I have a Chinese made Iwasaki 175w MV lamp and it's pretty well made.

Old lighting is, and will always be, the best lighting.

Nice lamp, I have a newer Japanese made Iwasaki 175w MV lamp and the etch was moved to the side of the lamp. I like yours with the etch on the BT knob better.
