LMI/McGraw-Edison Unistyle-250

LMI/McGraw-Edison Unistyle-250. This is an eBay find. I've been looking for one of these for many years. This one does not have a ballast, and I'm going to install a 175W M57/H39 multi-volt so I can run MV, MH, and Philips Allstart CDM145 watt lamps. This luminaire will get the restoration treatment at a later date.

Awesome. It looks like the seller did a good job packing it so the glass wouldn't break.

Yes, they did. There's a little corrosion on the interior that can be removed with a wire brush. I'm going to seal the interior with high temp gray paint, and also paint the exterior using hammered silver...I know that its not the original color, but it looks good.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to save unique and rare HID lighting before it's all scrapped.

I like to leave my fixtures as is. I like the weathered used look.

I can understand...I mainly do this to stop the corrosion...especially on something this old.

I prefer that they look as if they've just come from the factory. It's like classic cars; we don't have the money right now, but when we do we're planning on getting a classic VW Beetle, then restoring it to as-new condition. It's probably going to take a while

Now that sounds like fun! (I like old cars too!)

Cool! The same seller has 1 more for sale, including some GE M250's.
