Four days after the first video...
My 20w Metal Halide bulb in my track light has died. Officially. Unfortunately missed the chance
to record it. After I flipped the switch, the lamp successfully struck, warmed up, got dimmer but
didn't shut off this time. Instead, there was a bright purple flash as well as a loud *tink* sound.
Incandescent glow immediately afterwards, as well as this strange film that developed along the
inside of the bulb. I freaked out and shut the lamp off. Turned it back on to see what would happen
and... the result continues into the video. Purple flashes only outside of the arc tube and blue
flashes below... no more light inside the arc tube.
Also, sorry for the repetitive doom music in the background. That music represents a very bad day
for me, and although it wasn't intended for the video, it does fit this situation a bit.
This was a restrike attempt, not cold start... but doesn't matter anymore at this point.
I got my dead Par38 MH in this video as well...
