Hermes Disaster!

Hermes Disaster!

Click to view full size image

I bought these on Facebook Marketplace, and unfortunately they all (minus one not in the photo) arrived broken, even though they were working before they were posted. The box (sent by Hermes) looked like it had been trodden on, and even had mud on the label! Shocking! The bulbs were even packaged well to begin with! I will try not to use Hermes ever again. Bulbs are:

2x Philips Crown Silver GLS 100w (filament broken in both)
Sylvania Mini Lynx CFL 20w (lost vacuum at the join between tubes)
Philips SL25 first generation (smashed to pieces inside!!)

Sorry! Postal services really need to be more careful with these rare lamps.

I like all kinds of lighting and electrical, especially HIDs and street lights!

Never had a problem with Hermes. We have got to know our local delivery driver very well, he is brilliant and will re-wrap a parcel if he sees it is in poor condition. He has delivered lamps to us on many occasions and all have been in perfect condition.

I think it was partially the sender's fault, as "Fragile" was not written anywhere on the package. Although the parcel looked like it had been run over!

Sometimes, writing "Fragile" on a parcel is inviting budding footballers

Although I don't think any particular courier company or the Post Office is wholly to blame, there are bad apples everywhere. We've been lucky, I have only ever had 1 lamp arrive broken (one of three 28W 2D's) and it was instantly replaced without question by the seller.

They're obliged to. If they argue, get eBay onto them.

Hermes is (...). I would never even think of using them. Here I only use DHL and DPD, wich are reasonable but a bit more expensive.

You can't say that Hermes or any company for that matter is in its entirety [censored], it depends on individuals. As I've said, our local delivery driver is exceptionally good and goes out of his way to deliver good service.
