These are NOS, and I paid to much for them...but I don't know if I'd find any again, so I jumped.

There are a number of ways to search, but only in advanced search.

I put the exact etch, i.e. "H39KC-175/N" (exact words & order, in title and description).

Sometimes I put the lamp name, i.e. "Westinghouse Lifeguard" (exact words & order, in title and description).

Lastly I'll try many words and change the search parameters i.e. "Lifeguard Style-Tone Mercury Lamp" (exact words, any order but only in title) ...then I start removing words if I don't get hits.

You can also save searches on eBay and they will send you a daily email if there are any hits. Depending on the search terms you use you might have to filter through a lot or little listings in that email.

That is one of my methods, but I've noticed with eBay's search engine that the wording has to match exactly, otherwise it skips the sale entirely. This is why I don't depend on them to find what I want, or items I didn't know I wanted. There are other ways.

Were these the H33GL-400/DX lamps in New Jersey? I'd considered buying them at one time too, but decided to pass.

Nice! I also decided to get the case of those BT-25 HPS lamps. Lots of convincing, but it worked! It isn't my first HID case, but my first is a Sylvania 400w /DX MV case from 1982 with only one original lamp.

Also cool find WC!

Good quality things are awesome. Cheaply made things are not.

Yeah, it's a shame some are overpriced, but there are good ones. Just have to do some digging!

I have found some, but it's up to my parents to decide if they're "cheap" enough.

Yeah, when I bought the Philips Lifeguard case, my dad tried to tell me to get a case of Chinese Philips MV bulbs from 2018, because the shipping was $10 “cheaper”.

When I bought that case of of BT-25s, my mom wanted to make an offer even lower than what the seller had offered us ($30.00) but I told her not to do that so the seller wouldn't lose money. It seems like your parents are lenient with eBay. With my parents you have to say why it's a good deal and also why you should get it now.

They are pretty much lenient, but I definitely have to explain why it’s a good deal a few times. I also have to explain the exact rarity of each bulb.
Sometimes I also make an offer that is way too low.

For some reason my dad thinks that if (for example) I have Chinese 175w MV. I shouldn’t ever get a Westinghouse Lifeguard 175w, because then I’d have two of the same thing, right?
