The light output is quite good and the light is spread quite evenly where the road would be.

These do have a very nice distribution. They don't light behind the fixture too well, but they throw a lot of light forward. I supposed you don't want a lot of light being thrown beyond the curb anyway, but HIDs tend to light the sidewalk and edge of the yard better. The ones used here installed in 2016/2017 have proved to be very reliable too. Hardly any failures. The Cree XSP series lights installed around here have proved almost as reliable (noticed more failures than the AEL round autobahns). The Leoteks used by the DOT seem to be the least reliable. They have turned yellow, dimmed a bit, lost LED chips, and had driver failures.

I have this type of streetlight outside our home, I had the utility attach a glare shield to it because it was lighting up the interior of our home much more than the previous HPS.

Across the street I'm guessing? The one in front of my house it at the end of the driveway (I'm on the house side) my neighbors yard across the street is lit up but mine is completely dark. The cutoff is pretty much right at the curb line. I wish it lit more of my yard. I've installed landscape lights to make up for it though.

Yup. It's on the other side of the street from our house. Because the color temp is relatively low (4000K-ish?) it's just like someone left an interior light on.

Our utility only took 48 hours to respond. The ATBS is setup perfectly for a glare shield. I hope it lasts a long time, because they did a perfect job of killing all of the spill light onto my property.

We have our own exterior lighting and landscape lighting, the street light used to wash out our landscape lighting and Christmas lights.
