Awesome Fluorescent Ceiling Fixture

Awesome Fluorescent Ceiling Fixture

Click to view full size image

Somewhere in Kansas!!!
This chrome fixture has TWELVE 20W fluorescent lamps and two incandescent bulbs!
Looks like the building was remodelled around it!! The hanging chain goes through a hole in the newer drop ceiling.
It's not for sale. :(

That is AWESOME! Only thing that would make it more perfect is if it had a circline instead of the incandescent fixture. Beautiful!

Preheat Fluorescents forever!

WOW like the looks of that! It looks like most of the bulbs are Westinghouse Blackenders too!

I love this light , The only thing that looks different about it is the incandescent fixture under it appears to be new - If I`m correct the newness of it takes away from this incredible light.

@vintagefluorescent, it does appear way too new! Would be much better suited with a vintage 22/32 watt open circline fixture there!

OK guys, I posted a close-up pic of the lower part. It's part of the fixture, not added on but maybe it has a newer glass cover?

My very first word was LIGHT!

Thanks for posting the close up Henry.

Speaking of circline Just noticed a preheat circline on e-bay - You don`t see many of those , could be a late 40`s version -Hope this link takes you to it for anyone interested & best of luck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ANTIQUE-FLUORESCENT-CEILING-LAMP-UNIVERSAL-MFG-CO-N-J_W0QQitemZ260631938931QQcategoryZ13862QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI&itu%3DUCI&otn%3D2&po%3DLVI&ps%3D63&clkid%3D7253585521541438441

That circline looks like it has some sort of T10 lamp in it.

Could complete the look by adding a couple of CFLs.

@vintagefluorescent, that is a nice fixture!
@icefoglights, it does appear to be a T10 lamp! Someone here should bid on it. I already have a very similar unit, as well as the 2 x 32 unit.

This fixture reminds me of a carnival ride! Picture it with red, green, blue, yellow and pink tubes!

Cool! Kinda reminds me of fluorescent lighting for fairground rides, like in the 1960s.

Nice. Would be cool to bargain with the owner. If you end up getting it, you could install a circline fixture where the incandescent is.
