That is nonsense.
The florescents start flickering and even the starter get damaged (90% of the time) from the tubes alone running EOL in the first place. So replacing the starter does not solve problem, It may hide the symptoms for a while (new starters may have the triggering voltage a bit higher, so still run the lamps in that state for a while without interfering), but the consumed cathodes will just make the symptoms return pretty quickly back again.

I would guess CWA, as these (I mean the MV ones) are really nearly ideal current sources, they won't overheat at lower than designed arc voltages.

Those weren’t SRX’s then and I think I saw them on eBay.

Since the catalog mention of running 1,000w MV on a 1,500w ballast pre-dates the 1,500w MH lamp , I wonder exactly what ballast they used ?

I see, yeah my toaster has settings from 150-450 on the dial so you can do steaming or cook turkey, or bake stuff etc in the roaster pan itself.

Might have to just experiment and see, I would think hot water should keep it hot enough if the food is already hot when put into the pans. It says to only use the buffet serving pans for food that’s already cooked and hot.

When I was working at the air show, the dial on that warner was set to maybe setting 6 or 7 of 10, so possibly it could turn higher to simmering, but as I wasn’t in charge of it I didn’t mess with the setting other than turning off. The food was already hot from the fryer when put into the pans.

PL&S’s addressed facility is still there and appears to be open recently, perhaps they’ve become an under-the-table company for custom lighting and such. However I’m pretty sure they don’t produce any LPS stuff, likely in years.
