I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.

This might just be a typo.

They also have a 100,000 lumen work light! But read the fine print, and it’s really 350 lumens....

Obviously it isn’t actually that bright, I just thought it was funny...

Of course it is BS and not a typo, like those tasers that claim to have millions of volts. The funny thing is that I walked behind one of those and are not brighter than an average camping light.

So if we were to take the sellers word for it, then that fixture would be the most efficient light source ever with a LPW of 66000 (since the fixture is advertised as a 150w fixture), and (if my math is correct) this fixture alone would be brighter than almost 80 or 90 1000w HPS bulbs.

However, we all know that is BS, and just like those cheap 18650 batteries that claim to have a 10,000mAH capacity, they know that big numbers is what gets the (less than bright) costumers to buy their over-priced crap.

A LPW of 66,000 would also break the laws of thermodynamics.

For a solar powered light, thats a lie.  ::)   Funny thing that no one realized that they get scamed on ebay from a Chiniese listing, saying that "our product can output 15000 lumens", but it only outputs 150 lumens...  ::)

Even the aliexpress listings don't have such a level of BS. Practically everyone here knows that it is BS, but the people out there will believe it because they probably don't even know what is a lumen, so they get attracted by the big numbers and that's why they buy their overpriced sh. The 150W is also BS BTW, such things can not even equal a 150W incandescent. Also, if you dig around in the specifications you will find that the battery capacity is 12000mAh.

I’m pretty sure they start out with a lumen rating in the hundreds, for example 150. Then, they add a bunch of zeros and claim that’s the real lumen output!
