I have four NOS GE M400R2s that I'm considering selling. I got 8 recently and only really want to keep 4. (I don't hardly have room to keep them all!) They are 250/400w 120/208/240/277V dual-wattage quadtap ballasts. They have semi-cutoff refractors. I was thinking of selling them for like $50 each plus shipping. Let me know if any of you are interested. I will go and get some pictures of them soon. (There is already one in my gallery.)

I've had two people last week almost clip the front passenger side of my car this week at a local 2 lane wide roundabout because they cut from the outside lane in!!! One of them was in a ford edge SUV and the other one in a 2nd gen dodge ram spray painted black with the kansas city chiefs logo tacked on with more paint. Really pisses me off how most people cannot use a roundabout at all even though they live around one every day. :P

And we have one, thanks so much, Eric, must get it out and run it up again soon.

The reason for the side prong base Maxim is the fact that they were designed for use in mines, and that design of base allowed the lamp to sit deeper in its fixture and also made for a more reliable connection. There were also incandescent lamps made with these bases.
Cool! Thanks for telling us the backstory of these lamps! :bulbman:

Fortunately all exotic wattages of ballast chokes can be easily emulated by running some standard easy to found ones in series/parallel combination.

I would more guess the fluorescents provide very good lighting so are able to support mental activity so much you tire yourself way more without actually feeling it, so you then suffer from (mental) exhaustion when doing that for too long time.
And I don't think there would be any difference related to any lighting technology, just the bright illumination levels and higher CCT in general. Fluorescents were just the first technology providing such lighting...

There is NO chance that I will ever again find any single lamp ballasts for 40W 2ft fluorescent tubes . After I disposed my spares ones in the late 90s there will not be any left in the wild, especially in Switzerland.

Drove 400 miles/7 hours round trip to ATR lighting in Richland Missouri to pick up some goodies there. Went great and the accord handled everything well. Even got a free EYE lighting mouse pad. :mrg: Some of the stuff bought is for Lumex120 and will be aptly given to him whenever I see him again. 8)
