It seems to be a decent substitute for a 50W H46 mercury vapor ballast, but it somewhat underdrives the lamp and is better for running Japanese 40W mercury vapor lamps and the rare North American 40W H45 mercury vapor lamps.

I recently ordered a clear EYE 50w mercury lamp, I need a ballast to run it with.
