Questions with 400w ballast

This ballast says it's for 400w MH and HPS lamps. It says no ignitor required but also says 'only for philips and osram lamps'. I am confused about if it would run
these
lamps (I think pulse start).
Update- there is an ignitor inside it!

This is definitely fun, as the box is marked 'no ignitor' while there is one inside
Do you have some junk 400W HPS lamp to test run the ballast and measure the exact lamp current?

Don't have any junk lamps (also no 400w HPS). I will be going day after tomorrow to the same shop and ask for details and to test it (as well as get a capacitor).
