HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!

Nice to see low pressure sodium lamps being made again since they are much more environmentally friendly than LED lighting.

Not quite commercial grade, but it's a start. And shown it's possible.

I have once imagined some SLI/H-like low pressure sodium lamps being designed as a drop in retrofit for fluorescent tubes without having the need to change the ballast. If such lamps were to exist, I would certainly love to run them in some fluorescent fixtures that I have in my collection.

You can technically run them on fluro ballasts, but the ballast to closely match the SLI in power won't match length in the slightest.

Would have been watchable if he'd actually described what he was doing instead of playing meaningless dreary music.

Technically, you could certainly run HID lamps on magnetic fluorescent ballasts and fluorescent lamps on magnetic HID ballasts. I have even made some homemade HID ballasted fluorescent fixtures myself.

True in its own way. But I was more concerned with the fact it HAS been done, rather than how it was shown.

Understandable, but I prefer to hear what is happening in a commentary rather than just playing music over it. That video told me nothing except that the guy is good at glasswork.

Just because they stopped making SOX Lamps doesn't mean they stopped making LPS lamps.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it HID Fixtures should stay HID, but I think LED is fine too. Any new photos are taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35! Local power is 120/240VAC 60Hz, TV is NTSC 480i 59.94, DTV is ATSC 1.0 and simulcast ATSC 3.0. -Using Lighting-Gallery since 2022-

So far, I know that the company TruHalo has SOX low pressure sodium lamps being imported from China.
