I saw that recently, I think they're just selling NXT-Lites in the US.

In Pacific Palisades they've used some of the standard RoadMax on some power poles, replacing LADWP (I'm pretty sure) HPS lights.

Well, if it is up to code valid at build time, it is "up to code" now as well.
Problem is, when the installation is too old, you will have troubles finding components compliant with code from that time. Especially things compatible with aluminum wires (switches, sockets, connection for pigtails,...).

Looks wise, pretty nice, i hope their as good as they look!

Most remodelers I have seen at HGTV tells the viewer that the house with aluminium wiring should be replaced with copper wiring to bring it's up to code.

Not really, I would expect arc tube bulging and low electrode life at these currents. I think it would significantly reduce the lifespan of the lamp.

It runs fine on the much  higher rated ballast but I would like to know how much this overpowering would shorten the lifespan of the lamp.

Earlier this month, Acuity Brands has finally released a proper high-output LED flood light under Holophane - it's called the Raptor™. This is an adequate successor for the Prismbeam II, which was discontinued several years ago. The design is reminiscent of Crouse-Hinds incandescent flood lights from the 1930s. Additionally, it comes with several different optical configurations, including louvre attachments, a wire guard, a vandal-resistant shield, and even a prismatic glass lens instead of a clear glass lens. It maxes out at 816 watts, 120,000 lumens.

Raptor™

This last February, Evluma has released a new series of LED roadway luminaires; it is called the RoadMax Edge. This is a spinoff of the standard RoadMax series that was launched in 2022. Instead of using COB optics, th RoadMax Edge uses standard SMD optics. I immediately noticed that these use share the exact same design with the LED Roadway Lighting NXT-Lite. As for fixture size, these aren't that big; the RoadMax Edge 3 measures 23.1 inches long. As far as reliability is concerned, I honestly believe that the standard RoadMax will be more reliable, as it has a bigger and thicker housing. However, considering that it's an Evluma product (extremely good reliability track record), I trust these to be a quality product.

The problem with aluminum wiring was never 'solved' as it is physically/chemically fundamental. For smaller gauges there is also a significant corrosion problem. Of course, financial savings are large, and sometimes lower density of aluminum matters, so Al wiring is tolerated in professional installations. And thieves are not interested in stealing Al cables. Home wiring is more chaotic and less controlled by definition, and especially in US with 120V line voltage is unavoidably associated with huge currents. So, please NO )
