From almost new to EOL in 30 seconds! « on: August 08, 2011, 10:19:32 PM » Author: Powell
On one of my GE 25 utility 48 inch lamps wouldn't light in the single bulb rapid start fixture. The filament was broken on one end I thought. I got it to start 1 time on the lead side of the 2 lamp preheater, but I shorted the broken end and unshorted it while it was starting and it flashed pink and purple and lit. So today no dice on anything, all it would do on the preheater was rectify. Sooooo I put it on the 40 watt solid state Advance Phillips single lamp ballast. It lit up, flashed pink and purple and dimmed down with an orange glow on the dead end. Then it went bright and dim with BRIGHT orange and swirling and SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS took all the phosphors off. It melted the entire metal stem off and when it hit the glass it made a tiny hole.

ANYway, this appears to be an excellent ballast for EOL action ! ! !

OH WELL !!!
