Of course for me its Greece since I live there, and its easier for me to find Greek made bulbs, ballasts and fixtures that can't be found easily outside of Greece. (Except for the widespread Greek-made brass bulkheads that can be found anywhere).

I've noticed than many lighting related companies end with "ram",
For example: Osram, Tungsram, Volfram, Luxram.
Is it only because of the 2nd name of the tungsten element (wolfram) or is there another reason?

@RRK, this is true about most GoPro's, (ultra view) but the newer GoPro's have much more options to remedy this. Much, much more options. It was honestly
a bit... frustrating... watching the video tutorials about the GoPro Hero 10... because with each video, the amount of information was far too complex.
Regarding shooting video of people, even if the GoPro Hero 10 can do it well, it's not my go-to camera for that purpose. The next camera that I purchase
will be more suited for that purpose, with much higher quality than the Hero 10 can provide. I may have to spend a good amount of cash for the camera, but
it will be worth it.
I disagree that no one else seriously cares, but I would agree that no one on Lighting Gallery cares. This is the reason why I typically refrain from
mentioning anything regarding my other passions outside of vintage lighting, on this site. Typically... but even if no one on this site cares, I don't care.
(I say this respectfully, by the way. Not to sound harsh!) I want to try and pursue my passions outside of lighting, and share some of those passions with
people outside of Lighting Gallery, AND with members on Lighting Gallery as well. Whether fellow members are interested or not, that's on them... not me.

Again just a theory, You're saying it would be easier to run two matching lamps (say both 35W), but again you need a specialist limited power supply?

your best bet for running 2 SOX lamp in series would be using a classic SO/H/ SOI/H 45-60-85W leak transformer ballast if ya have such a device, leak transformer ballasts are more or less constant current drivers, and 2 26W SOX-E/35W SOX's in series are approximately equivalent to an 60W-85W SOI/H, the only problem is starting, the OCV might not be enough to start 2 in series at the same time, so you might have to link one out at first let the other strike then remove the jumper to strike the other lamp


SOX lamps come in current ranges so with the right constant current source you could drive non equal lamps together as long as they are within the same range, for example you could drive a an 18W SOX-E 26W SOX-E and 36W SOX-E all in a string together (all are ~0.35A~ lamps), or 90W 135W 180W (all are 0.9A lamps) or if you really wanted to take the biscuit you could in theory do 35W SOX 55W SOX 66W SOX-E 91W SOX-E 131W SOX-E all in a string since they are all 0.6A lamps, but you would need a seriously beefy constant current 0.6A supply for that!

As for 'time is ticking' the real answer is that no one else seriously cares whatever you do in this world....

One thing about GoPro's is that they are ultra-wideangle with infinite depth of field. While it is good for action shots (motorcycle, snowboard, cars etc) it is sub-optimal for people shots. Used at close range, it will give cheap 'mobile phone' perspective footage. Some better camera with longer focal length and limited depth of field is necessary. A mid-range interchangeable lens digital camera is considered good usually.

Definitely want this elusive BLV/Ushio MH lamp. I think I got most of MH colors possible already (and even more , but never this one.

Note this is not like much more widespread orange version of BLV color lamps, which is just sodium+mercury and looks like watered down HPS with MH burner.

I'm glad to hear that they've just moved them, I'll have a look again next time and see what's on offer at mine.

On a side note I noticed some of the LED filament lamps had a new filament design that's thicker than the ones I've most commonly seen, I wonder what the benifits are to that.

have 2 restores in my city and one is FAR better in getting commercial stuff in and the other is mostly
the one with commercial stuff is a far better score and right now is working through a cashe of MH bulbs from 100 watt to 1000 watt and I got some S55 HPS sylvania BT bulbs
last sept I took a roundtrip out to Vancouver and hit up some restores on my route
the poor towns were FAR WORSE then the richer towns
