Recently, GE-Current introduced a new size to its family of roadway luminaires - the ERL series. It's now the biggest luminaire in the series and is called the ERL6. Rather than two rectangular LED modules the ERL2 has, the ERL6 has six square LED modules mated to a slightly bigger housing. It measures 30 inches long, while the ERL2 measures 26.3 inches. It's slightly brighter as well, with the ERL6 maxing out at 290 watts, 40,000 lumens (4,000K) and the ERL2 maxing out at 265 watts, 32,000 lumens (4,000K). With the addition of the ERL6, the ERL series now has one more luminaire than the previous ERS series.

That is HUGE! :o
This must be the ultimate glarebomb, but at least it is available in 2700K and 3000K options.

had the chance to get close to a 208 watt ERL3 lest night as the hydro had laid the street light poles down for work and they were there when i went home and the works crew had retired for the night and damn them things are BIG in person
small and medium street LEDS are quite a bit smaller then there HID brothers but these are NOT really much smaller

30" isn't that big . An small Unistyle is 28.75" , an AEL/ITT 13 is 29" while an AEL 125 is 31" .

Update: They've come out with yet another one. This one is called the ERLS (https://www.led.com/evolve-erls-setback-luminaire/475898), which stands for "Evolve Roadway Luminaire Setback." Since the discontinuation of the Turnpike and Tiger luminaires, it has been several years since GE-Current has made an equivalent replacement for either of them. It is essentially an ERL6 with an adjustable tenon attached to it, which can be either external or internal in relation to the luminaire. While the ERL6 only maxes out at 290 watts , the ERLS maxes out at 342 watts (48,000 lumes at 4,000K).

When do you think that the erl2 will be discontinued?
-
Probably not anytime soon. The ERL2 fills the gap for wattages in the mid 100s to the low 200s.
-
According to spec sheets, the erlh goes up to 136 watt, the erl6 starts at 150 watt. The the only wattage that the erl2 has which is in between those is 140 watt. Do you think that the erl1 and erlh will be replaced anytime soon? They are nearly 8 years old, right?
-
If I'm not mistaken, the ERL Series launched in 2018.
It's a possibility. I doubt they'll get discontinued entirely, but maybe they'll get a "face-lift" within the next few years.

I have seen some 2017 erls on ebay with ers optics https://www.ebay.com/itm/116201243314?
EDIT:There is also a 2016 erl1 pictured here on LG.

FYI , when posting eBay links , you don't need anything past the "?" mark . Everything else is useless fluff .
-
Thank you very much, I'll shorten the link now.
-
No problem !
-
Little late for this but according to the wayback machine the erl1 came out in late 2015 and the erl2 and erlh came out in early 2016.
-
You mean the ERS2? Didn't the ERL2 come out in 2018-2019?
-
Oh OK, that was my memory playing games.
