Hi there and look what I found for sale in my local classified ads!
Two NOS in the box, never used Norelco 175w MV dx coated BT-28 lamps. Seller lives on a farm and had them since the mid 80's as spares but he claims the original fixture and bulb are still going strong. Thats good ol MV for ya :) I tried to spot the bucket light on his property but couldn't see it. I picked these up for $10 canadian. Original price sticker indicates $15.99 and seller claims he got these in the states. Tag says, Stambaugh's.

Nice catch! That's the first time I have seen a Norelco branded bulb. I would've gone and bought an 70w HPS yardblaster to replace the original bucket, they are only $30 at lowes.
-
Yeah when I first viewed the ad I thought the same thing myself. I dont really have a use for them but as they are to bright for my size of yard but I still wanted them for their rarity.
I posted this in the wrong spot!! Woops...

It's fine, lol. We all make mistakes. A while ago, I posted a little too much on the forums but I noticed what I did and deleted a lot of posts.

I figured these lamp pics would gather more attention as MV lamps and fixtures seem to be quite popular on here and we all love vintage lighting stuff. I will post in the right section next time.

After running 30+ years, the old MV lamps will have depreciated by 60+%...almost candlelight except for the CCT, but a good find for you.
-
These are cool! I have a few Norelco MV bulbs, but none of them are BT-28.
-
Wow! I remember seeing these on the local classifieds but I was too late and someone bought them. Maybe it was you if your in Ontario lol

Hi there! Yepp that was me lol, I'm in the london area. Glad to see other Canadain members on here :)

I'd be willing to trade one for a 50w mercury lamp. I just purchased a nice NOS Westinghouse Lifeguard 50 watt mercury lamp of Ebay and I'm pretty sure its a dud :(

Would you like a clear eye iwasaki 50w merc?

Hi there. Yes that would be great! Is it an E17 bulb shape and medium base?
I've never shipped something before lol.
