Title: Small T5 electronic Ballast that Provides Violent EOL show
Post by: suzukir122 on June 17, 2017, 03:55:08 AM
Has anyone ever seen a T5 ballast that provides a violent EOL show? (Specifically for smaller wattage lamps)
I don't think I've ever seen a small T5 ballast provide an EOL show worth remembering. For example, the small undercabinent
T5 fixtures ranging from 4 watts to 13 watts (I think) seem to burn out with the electrode filament melting/separating, and
then the lamp simply shuts off.

No, but the main reason is that electronic ballasts for 4..13W T5 are allmost non existent here. Its allways been Magnetic

However, i had an EOL CFL of 11W which did not put out a show - it appeared to just come off, but when i removed it i found that the Glass pulled in forming like a funnel into one of the electrodes

Although I have seen T5 4 watt lamps on preheat, most of the time when I see small T5 lighting (mainly under-cabinet style)
they're ran on electronic ballasts of some kind, at least where I live.
