I don't mind paying a little more for old HID lamps or unique lamps, but not incandescent or fluorescent ones because I can normally find those for a good price at a re-store.

Unfortunately, we don't have that option over here, there is no equivalent to re-store here that I am aware of. All retail outlets now only sell LED with small quantities of halogen and CFL until stocks of those run out. No incandescents at all except for specialist lamps like daylight craft lamps or oven lamps, etc. No retail outlet anywhere in the UK sells HID, at leasy none that I have ever seen, they have only ever been available online or at electrical wholesalers, many of whom will not sell direct to the public, and those that will have limited stocks if they still have any at all  :-\

Restore is run by Donation to sell used building materials from refurbishment  and some predemolition
to strip out any building material for donation.  they take
that money and build houses using free labor.  like selling a home for half the price here with your own
blood sweat and tears.

Is there any second hand shop or places that  sells  second hand building material in UK?

these early lamps in those days and where oil lantern
lighting was prominate back then and most are hand blown glass.  the production of them was slow and expensive.  it like trying to switch out  gas lights or oil lantern  for incandescents they feel like unproven light technolgy.  It like now days how LED took over Incandescents and hid lighting  it was slow at first until people  are pushing them out.  only difference with old lights they had was free market.
