I had to go to Lowe's a few days ago, and noticed that all Sylvania lighting was on clearance, and on the lighting aisle, all the lamps that used to be Sylvania are being replaced with GE. What gives? I got four F34/CWX's since I won't be able to get them anymore.

weird... I'd basically classify Sylvania as my towns mascot... Very rarely is there much else locally... which I'm not complaining... I like Sylvania.

Hmm, I haven't looked at the Lowe's store, near me.

The big box stores will go with whatever lighting manufacturer offers to sell to them for the least amount of $$$ so that the re-sellers can jack the prices up and get as much $$$ as possible without having to buy for as much $$ from the manufacturer. They generally will have 5-10 year contracts with that manufacturer and then re-evaluate and allow the manufacturers to bid again.

Lowes is also getting rid of anything by GE with the Reveal branding, including there LED line up of reveal bulbs, and the 13 watt CFL BLB by Feit where also getting the boot, most of the stuff right now is anywhere between 20 to 30 cents on the dollar, so get what you want/need while they are cheap...
