Title: 2000k LED streetlights
Post by: 589 on October 28, 2019, 06:58:58 AM
I was poking around the RAB website again and found that they sell their triboro streetlights in hps color light as an advertised option by them. I thought that to be neat so I thought that I would share it here.

I've seen something about these before. I'd be curious to see if they actually look like HPS . RAB makes really nice stuff !

72lm/W, might as well keep the original HPS lantern as they are at Least 100lm/W.

Except RAB’s lights have better light quality at 70~ CRI over HPS’s typical 25~ CRI. These are more like deluxe HPS than the crappy HPS we all saw infest everywhere en masse back in 2000s nuking both MHs and MVs alike. I remember back then LG hated on HPS for nuking MV and MH lights.

Very true, i did not think about that.

Seems odd to want to keep the orange color, maybe for spot replacements of lanterns in existing installations?

The CRI is bad, but HPS is still cheaper an replaceable light source.

I’ve warmed up to 3000K LED Lights (No pun intended).

It’s 5000K+ that I still hate (except I just installed 6500K LEDs in my car to replace the halogen)

4000K is ok, but not my favorite.

I prefer HPS and MV over MH and LED. both former white light sources are too intense and the spectrum is annoying.

Both HPS and MV are common here.  So the "nuking" never really quite happened here.
